Axial and hysteretic behavior of T-shaped steel–concrete composite shear walls

Multi-partition steel tube formed T-shaped composite shear wall is a new type of which enhances the structural performance compared to traditional wall. To clearly understand behavior such walls, eight half-scaled specimens were tested study their axial and seismic behavior. The failure mechanism, energy dissipation ability observed according experiments. experiments showed that strength cross-section was higher than sum capacities concrete as multi-partition could confine well. Meanwhile, ductility good. For experiments, exhibited high strength, good excellent ability. When load ratio increased, lateral resistance capacity increased obviously. Although beyond limitation current Chinese standard, drift angle still satisfy requirement standard. experimental results used compare with those calculated some codes including EC4, CECS AISC.
